Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from just resizing images?
Standard resizing scales the whole image — subject and whitespace together — which either distorts the product or produces inconsistent margins. IWN detects the subject bounding box, measures only the whitespace around it, then rebuilds the canvas to match your reference ratios. The subject is never scaled unless it physically won't fit, and even then only uniformly.
What is the reference anchor system?
You pick one product image whose proportions you like. IWN measures the exact ratio from the canvas edge to the nearest point of the subject (top point for portrait images, left point for landscape). Every processed image will have those same ratios — so all thumbnails sit at the same visual height in your grid.
Will my WooCommerce products update automatically?
Yes — when you use "Replace with backup" mode (the default), the normalized image is saved with the exact same filename as the original. The attachment ID in WordPress stays the same, so every product, page, or post that references that image automatically shows the normalized version with no re-linking required.
What happens to my original files?
In "Replace with backup" mode, the original is renamed to filename-original.jpg before the normalized version is saved. Your originals are always preserved. You can also choose "New file" mode to save normalized copies as filename-1.jpg without touching the originals at all.
Does it work on JPEG, PNG, and WebP?
Yes — IWN supports JPEG, PNG, and WebP. For JPEG it automatically corrects EXIF orientation before processing. The white threshold is adjustable to handle JPEG compression artefacts (recommended: 240–250).
What is the free plan limit?
The free plan lets you process up to 10 images in total. There's no per-batch restriction — you can process all 10 at once. Once you've used your 10 free images, you'll need to upgrade to Pro for unlimited processing.
How does Pro activation work?
Purchase Pro below — your license key arrives by email instantly. In your WordPress admin go to Media → Normalize Whitespace → Settings → License, paste your key and click Activate License. Pro features unlock immediately on that site.
How does the AI alt text credit system work?
Every Pro plan includes 500 AI alt text generations per month, automatically resetting on a 30-day rolling basis. If you need more, you can purchase non-expiring credit packs: 500 credits for $9 or 2,000 credits for $29. Pack credits carry over indefinitely — they're only consumed after your monthly allocation runs out.
